I have to admit that FaceBook is pretty cool, and I was able to connect with friends and people I have not talked to for years.
I know this is a big attraction for people, but also to stay in touch, not just find people. Keeping up with your friends every move, what they eat, when they are sad, when they go to the bathroom????
Facebook, MySpace, Friendster, and many other websites are called Social networking sites, and it is fun to connect with others.
However, when connecting with anyone, we have got to be careful with private information.
I was on face book back last year, and left because I felt the security was not good, and I did not like putting my info out there.
As time went on, more people I know are on, and I thought it would be a good idea for the business promotion.
I have read a lot of tips and tricks to make sure my information was safe and secure, and wow, it was not easy to figure out. I work with computers for a living, and I was having problems finding the places to turn things on and off, it was very convoluted.
I am not the only one that found this a problem, so many people complained. So many that FaceBook recently has changed their policies supposedly to be easier to manage.
A couple weeks ago, I reluctantly left FaceBook again, for the final time. I was not feeling good about security, and I kept hearing what I was fearing, how they can use your information, and how they plan on using it in the future.
I won’t go into tons of details, because I have a couple great links here for you to see for yourself what the problems are, and how to shore them up.
Personally, I do not find the benefit of FaceBook to outweigh the negatives of it. I think it is a place that anything you put out there, can and will be used against you, or worse, to steal identities, or case your home or your family.
If you have a FaceBook Account and do not have it locked down for only first Level Friends to see everything, you need to do that or get off the site and remove your account.
I see people putting their kids photos and names, and what they are doing for the weekend, where they live, and worse.. it is unreal in today’s society that anyone would virtually leave their doors on their home open and invite in strangers.

Remember DO NOT use all of the cute and fun Apps and games. They are not written by FaceBook, but by other people, and there are lots of viruses running around in the apps. Just say no to the cute apps.
