Getting to Printer Settings Easier in XP and Vista - on the Start Menu Button

I like to have the features I commonly access quick and easy to get to. Even an extra couple of clicks bugs me. Here is a quick way to add choices to your start menu so things you might want to access often are easier to get to.
One thing I really like that is usually not present on the Start menu is the Printer folder to show your printers so you can check and change properties on your printer(s) or set the default printer if you have more than one.
It is really simple, and here are the steps. When you get to the customize menu, you will see there are numerous choices you have, and you can change those also, adding or removing things from your start menu.
Windows XP
Right Click on the task bar down at the bottom of the desktop, near the clock, but not on any icons, just on the colored bar next to the clock. Click on Properties.
Click on the top tab Start Menu, then click on Customize.
Click on Advanced and you will see a box below with the Start Menu Items.
Scroll down until you see the Printers and Faxes choice.
Put a check in the box. Click on OK, then Apply, then OK again.
Now to test it, click on Start, and you will see the printer menu choice, or whatever other items you checked off when changing the settings in Customize.
Windows Vista
Right Click on the task bar down at the bottom of the desktop, near the clock, but not on any icons, just on the colored bar next to the clock. Click on Properties.

Click on the top tab Start Menu, then click on Customize. You will see a box below with the Start Menu Items.

Scroll down until you see the Printers choice.

Put a check in the box. Click on OK, then Apply, then OK again.

Now to test it, click on Start, and you will see the printer menu choice, or whatever other items you checked off when changing the settings in Customize.
