In an interesting strategic move against Microsoft, Google has been working on an operating system around their Chrome Browser and geared towards the netbook type computers (see my earlier blog on netbooks)The New York Times reports that Google is going to directly compete with Microsoft with a new Operating System based on the Chrome Browser that they have developed.
The OS is supposed to be for low cost "tiny" computers such as netbooks, not really for full blown PCs. However Google is hinting at the possibility of the operating system being available to full sized PCs.
