someone said about £40 to take the laptop becasue he use the parts for repair other laptops

Was something like that it was Toshiba 17” widescreen.

Main question I have is, why not fix the screen if everything else works? Newer laptops are not impossible to replace such parts. Take your time and you could get it fixed yourself in an hour or two. Even though the parts are used, I would not sell the parts for less than 100 pounds, especially if they all work.
What Laptops Have Dedicated Parts?
I am planning on buying a laptop, but I have heard some brands have dedicated parts. My mom’s old Compaq had a problem with it’s hard drive (or something along those lines) and it couldn’t be repaired because it’s part was disscontinued.
I am looking at either a Toshiba, Acer or HP laptop, do any of those have dedicated parts?
Sorry then, it must not have been the hard drive, but the computer guy said that it was a dedicated part and it was discontinued. So perhaps a different part then.
the parts you can replace in all laptops are the hard drive and the ram.
most asked but not replaceable is the graphics. either it’s integrated in the chipset or if dedicated, it’s a proprietary manufacturer solution (laptop graphics card will not be sold). there is a new standard coming up that will allow an easy replacement of graphics cards, the MXM port.

cpu’s are upgradeable, but normally it isn’t worth to do it (it’s much too expensive and a laptop will not show a considerable performance improvement).
